Veterans Day Appreciation Event

In honor of our Veteran students, the Education Department hosted an appreciation event on November 11, 2013 at 5:00P.M. in which all our Veteran students along with Veteran Andre Holly (Director of Admission) and Steve Ward (Adjunct Faculty) were invited to attend. During this event the students, Andre, and Steve were able to share thier experiences with one another and the Education Department Administration. The event gave our veterans the opportunity to meet and talk with fellow veterans (students and staff) they either already knew or have not met before. From an observer's view, the Veterans seem to really enjoy and appreciate the event and the company of each Veterans.

Guest Speakers during the August Term

Daniel Gutierrez is an international business consultant, radio personality, renowned motivational speaker, and author who has inspired people to make positive changes that lead to success. Leveraging his experience, his infectious humor, and his deep belief that there is greatness in each of us has helped transform individuals all over the world. Daniel was kind enough to take time from his busy schedule to be a guest speaker for both Ms. Fontana’s College Writing and Public Speaking class in the August term. Daniel shared his real life stories that undoubtedly came from the heart and appealed to the many professions, ages, and cultures of the students. The students were able to identify with his experiences of pitfalls, celebrations, tragedies, and success in his search for inner peace. Daniel’s words of wisdom inspired the class to look at going beyond their limitations to find success. He was also generous in providing an electronic copy of his book “Stepping into Greatness” to each student.
